If you are distressed or experiencing feelings of despair - get help now.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis now, there are several people you can call for help.
If you are in Edinburgh:

- Open 24 hours a day
- Support for people experiencing a mental health crisis in Edinburgh area
Emergency student support (out of hours)
- How to contact the University for support, outside of normal working hours (9am - 5pm)

If you are in the UK:
The Samaritans (call 116 123)
- Open 24 hours a day
- A National Service for anything that is worrying you.
NHS 24 (call 111)
- Available outside GP opening hours
- Provides critical health support, including mental health.
Breathing Space (call 0800 838587)
- Open evenings and weekends:
- Monday-Thursday 6pm to 2am
- Friday 6pm to Monday 6am
- A confidential phoneline for anyone in Scotland feeling low, anxious or depressed.
